The good points I found from the book can be enjoyed from alternate sources or gleaned from a wiki that is sure to update with key points soon, all while avoiding so many deeply disappointing points the book includes.

At this point I could only recommend it to the staunchest fans of Vex and Vax, and pretty much only for completionist purposes. The story was such a low point of fantasy storytelling for me that I felt compelled to finish the book out of spite so that I could write a review of its entirety. The streaming show, the campaign settings, the comics, and everything we've seen thus far for the upcoming show have been fantastic work that this novel profoundly falls short of. That fact is especially disappointing because it is a known fact that Critical Role can produce much better work, and has been consistently up to this point.
